  1. We use Slack for our company messaging. I have enabled the Slack/Cloud 66 integration, but our different Stacks all get sent to the same Slack channel.

Ideally, I could configure different Slack channels for each Stack.

  4. Let's say I have multiple applications that need to talk to others, for example in a Service Oriented Architecture setup. My applications need to know the IP addresses of the other applications to talk to their API's. I'd like a way of referencing (maybe in a manifest file) the other stacks to get information for them.

    Example:

Application A needs to know the IP address of Application B. In my manifest for Application A maybe I have a 'stacks' variable?

    stacks['uniqueidforstackb']['rails']['ip_address']

Something like this would be super useful.

  5. I've already setup a regular managed backup schedule, however, the Pro Tip remains in the list regardless. Would be nice to remove that once a backup schedule has been setup.

  6. It is not clear why you want an SSH key to be added to my github/bitbucket account. You can read github repos and add an ssh key with their API http://developer.github.com/v3/users/keys/#create-a-public-key the same for bitbucket https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/ssh-keys+Resource

That said I don't like to give you write access to all my repos. What i am willing to give you is right to deploy key. https://help.github.com/articles/managing-deploy-keys https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BITBUCKET/Use+deployment+keys

  7. Sometimes I find out that you have added new features and you never wrote about it on the blog. You should write on the blog or even better keep a changelog of the system, with all the things you added

  8. Now that Database replication exists in Cloud66 It would be awesome to be able to run database slaves on different stacks and clouds.

This would allow a complete system backup on a different cloud provider with minimal outage time

  9. At the moment when you shutdown an instance or a stack on cloud 66 the instance continues to run on the cloud provider. You should provide a way to say to shut down the instance also there to avoid to do it manually every time

    • protips is constantly telling me to add database backups, even though i already have them installed. http://cl.ly/image/003J1e3Y2l2y

    • what if i don't want to add a load balancer? why can't i dismiss the alert? (same for SSL certs -- i don't want to add one on staging, for example.)

    • i can't set up a redeployment hook for production stacks, so why is it asking me to? http://cl.ly/image/003J1e3Y2l2y

    • what if i don't want to use Logentries? would like to be able to dismiss this alert too.

    • Stackscore could benefit from "dismissing" alerts too. Sometimes I make the conscious decision to not use…

  11. If I have master slave postgres replication and my master goes down I want it all to switch to slave, either a button to do it manually or do it automatically and tell me. Then I can fix master with very minimal downtime. For me its all about minimal downtime with large datasets really.

  12. You currently tag my AWS instances with some useful information (env, name) but I'd like to also see what server type an instance is e.g. PostgreSQL or Rails or MySQL etc.

  15. There's a nice and neat "What's New" section of the interface that essentially links to blog posts of new features, etc. When you click on this link it shows the unread items in bold, but the original What's New menu item doesn't bold if there is something new so you have to manually check the page every now and then for anything new.

Would be convenient to have the "What's New" bold when there is a new post that hasn't been read by the current user.

  16. Would loove to be able to choose the name of a server before its provisioned and possibly change it after.

Had to destroy a whole stack because the system named by db server frog.

    Was not having it lol

  17. "Stack screendoor-v2 deployed successfully" is really frustrating, since we have both a staging and production stack.

  18. Engineyard used to do this via their gem and I loved it.

    Maybe something of the following:

    c66 console --stack=STACK
